Charleston, W. Va., [/preprinted] November 26th [preprinted:] 188 [/preprinted]3.

Dear Friend and Cousin George Holl!

Your letter so long looked for at last to hand, I am more than glad to hear from you, aspecially you are all well. I did not know that you had left Alton, I think that accounts for my 2 letters, wich [sic] where [sic] lost.

In regard to Brother Andreas, I can inform you that he is with us and has ben [sic] since New Year 1881, of Brother George I. know nothing, I have had but one letter from him, since myself & Wife returned from your Home, wich [sic] was the time he informed me of his child being dead, I. do not even know where he now is, would be glad for you to enclose me his Address the next time that you may [trop?] me a letter.

Cousin George, I can frankley [sic] tell you that my Mother never expected anything of the Kind as to see me to get such a Office in America as I. now have, because it is the Highest and best paying Office within
