[page 2:] You know. it ist the native town of your dear mother. and therefore a reason more. to see it. and from this place it only takes a few hours by railway. to see your father's country; the little town, where he is born, is lying in a nice little valley surreounded by mountains. I have been there with my wife and sistet in 1889. The chief thing of this is the hope. that your mother would accompany you. then this. I think, is the only way I shall have the pleasure. to see my dear aunt once more. During your stay in Hamburg it shall not cost you anythink. ask Ms. or Mr. Barthold, they will assure you, that we have plenty of rooms to lodge you. see if you can convince your mother to do it. If anything should happen. on account of her high age. which I do not believe. for it is the mildest season of the year. you are always with her. Next summer. it will be twenty- five years. since I left America. arcor- ding to the age of my aunt. it is not a great length of time. but yet - it is a time which we shall not often have to enjoy. so come to us next near. at least for a short time and I assure you. that you shall never repent it.

Transcribe What You See: As much as possible, transcribe the text as it appears on the page, including original spellings (even if they are incorrect/non-traditional) and keeping abbreviations as written. Insert a return at the end of each line as it appears on the page, and two returns for paragraphs. Transcribe the page in the order in which it was meant to be read: for example, marginal post scripts should be placed at the end of your transcription.
