Transcribe What You See: As much as possible, transcribe the text as it appears on the page, including original spellings (even if they are incorrect/non-traditional) and keeping abbreviations as written. Insert a return at the end of each line as it appears on the page, and two returns for paragraphs. Transcribe the page in the order in which it was meant to be read: for example, marginal post scripts should be placed at the end of your transcription.
